A Prestigious Conservatory Graduate
David Turner graduated from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, where he studied with renowned jazz educator Ramon Ricker. There, he performed as a member of the Eastman Jazz Ensemble in New York City’s Town Hall, and the Sarasota Opera House in Sarasota, Florida.
Performances That Span the US and the Globe
Other early performances in the career of David Turner include the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago, the North Sea Jazz Festival in the Netherlands, and the Montreaux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. He has shared the stage with such revered jazz artists as Eddie Daniels, Marvin Stamm, Bob Brookmeyer, Peter Erskine, Benny Carter, Eliane Elias, Tom Scott, and Dave Holland.
In 2002, he opened for music legend Dr. John at the Mellon Jazz Festival in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as part of the Perna, Schmidt, Sakash, and Turner Jazz Quartet. More recent performances have taken him across the US and the globe, including shows in Honduras, Mexico, Hawaii, California, and Grand Cayman.
David Has Performed at Florida's Most Impressive Venues
While playing in some of Florida’s best corporate and special events bands over the last 15 years, David has performed hundreds of shows at famous Florida destinations. They include the Breakers West Palm Beach, the Boca Raton Club, the Biltmore Hotel Coral Gables, The Diplomat Hotel and Golf Resort Hallandale, Disney World Orlando, The Flagler Museum in West Palm Beach, and Ritz-Carltons in South Beach, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Naples, and Sarasota.
